I quit my job to pursue my dreams

I’ve been rather quiet over the last couple of weeks and now want to share some insights about why this is. Keep in mind that this post will be a personal one and has nothing to do with cryptocurrency or DeFi projects. If that’s what you’re looking for, I’d recommend you to stop reading right now.

Still here? Great! Let me start by sharing how I got to this situation.

The lead up

Two years ago, I decided to become a freelance software engineer. I had been working as a consultant for quite some years and felt like it was time to stand on my own two feet. The security of a job no longer outweighed the potential money that I could make as a freelancer. And not only that, I also yearned for more freedom.

And so it happened. I decided to resign and registered my own company. It didn’t take long for me to land my first client and everything felt great. I got even better when I sent out my first invoice. My income more than doubled! For a while I felt like the richest man on the planet.

After a couple of months passed, I got over the initial rush and started to get accustomed to the money I was now earning. Isn’t it funny how quickly that happens?
